We’re Cracking On With Projects Here In Northland

Alongside our ongoing work at the Hundertwasser Arts Centre in Whangarei, the team at Trigg and all our subcontractors and suppliers are being kept seriously busy on these three local projects we have on the go right now.

BDO 2020 Construction Survey – Taking the Pre and Post-Covid Pulse

Advisory firm BDO NZ has released the 2020 Construction Survey. In two parts this year – giving a pre and post-COVID snapshot of the industry, the 2020 survey report looks at the impact COVID-19 has had on the industry and the industry’s key concerns and strategies for survival and growth.

Spotlight on Marlene Trigg

Marlene Trigg is the woman behind the scenes at Trigg Construction. Based at Trigg HQ, Marlene is always ready with a friendly greeting on the phone or at the door, or a freshly brewed coffee. There you’ll find her quietly oiling the wheels of a rapidly growing business and taking the lead on financial administration and office management.

Time’s Up for this President

Believe it or not, my role as National President Master Builders comes to a close at the end of August at the Master Builders AGM.

As everyone says, where did the last two years go, and how did they slip by so fast? It has been a real privilege to get around the country and meet the members that range from extremely large businesses to one employee. The passion for the Master Builders brand, their people and the industry has been fantastic to experience. I look forward to continuing to support them all at the events such as Apprentice of the Year, House of the Year, NZ Commercial Project Awards, together with all of their local events.

Men’s Health Matters

As an industry that employs large numbers of men, the health of our workforce is a hugely important issue for the sector. Master Builders NZ have sponsored and supported Men’s Health Week since its inception, to help get the message out to men to proactively take care of their health, and break down some of those macho mantras that might prevent men from getting regular health checks.

Hundertwasser Update

Recent progress on site has been tremendous, thanks to the great support from suppliers and subcontractors since we came out of Level 4 Lockdown. The last of the parapet/balustrade walls to the roof have been poured. The round tower and the lift shaft in the centre are complete, and the spiral staircase that winds around the lift is being formed.

Pushing Ahead for Northland

In our view, non-residential building in the Northland region seems to have bounced back post-COVID relatively well. Indicators are that non-residential sector activity will peak in the first quarter of 2021 and drop off from there. As always, many factors contribute, but COVID is the biggest in recent times.

Concrete is Pouring at Marsden Four Square Site

Things are all-go at the Marsden Four Square site at Marsden Cove, where we’re constructing a 900m2, two-story commercial building for Marsden Maritime Holdings (MMH). Part of their Marina Precinct development, a new modern Four Square retail operation will occupy the ground floor, and the upper floor leased to mixed businesses.

Men’s Health Week with Mark Sainsbury and Darrell Trigg

Men’s Health Week NZ Ambassador, Mark Sainsbury & National President, Darrell Trigg came into The Cafe to talk with Mel Homer about the health of our male population. These two offered some fascinating statistics, about why we should take notice. You will learn a lot from this one! And if you would like any further information head to Men’s Health Week NZ.
